Places in Bangkok to avoid during this weekend (12-14 March 2010).


Below are the expected hot spots to be avoided from tomorrow (12th March 2010) throughout the weekend. Kindly avoid wearing either Red or Yellow throughout this period yeah. It would be better to stay at home, and if you're holidaying in Bangkok, shopping malls will be the best option instead of going to the markets on the streets.

We should avoid visiting the staging areas below:

1. Klong 4 in Thanyaburi;

2. Klong 4 Rangsit;

3. Lak Si Democracy Monument;

4. Bang Na ntersection;

5. Lumpini Park;

6. Wong Wian Yai;

7. Tha Phrachan Pier;

8. City Hall of Nonthaburi;

9. City Hall of Samut Prakan;

10. Thailand – Japan Sports Complex, Din Daeng (near Masjid Din Daeng);

11. Sanam Luang;

12. Ratchadamnoen Road;

13. Phan Fa Bridge

and their surrounding areas which have been identified by

the UDD to be the venue for its mass rally;



PM confirms to work normally

BANGKOK, 11 March 2010 (NNT) –Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva
affirms to work as normal on 12 March, while during 13-14 March
he will be at the commanding center to monitor the situation.

Prime Minister Abhisit said that tomorrow he would still work
regularly at the Government House and on 13-14 March
he would be at the commanding center in the 11th Infantry
Directorate Command. He stated that the situation would be
monitored strictly to maintain peace.

He also expressed his concerns over traffic situation during 12-14 March
and the safety at particular sites. Prime Minister said that the personnel
and fire trucks would be available to deal with the incidents, while asking
people not to enter the critical areas.

Mr Abhisit confirmed that checkpoints had been set in several places in order
to keep demonstration in place but not to block the rally.
